If ever there was an unexpected
treasure hidden behind a plain exterior, this is it! Anyone who has
lived in Richardson, Texas as long as I have will remember the building
on Campbell and Nantucket as the original Sterlings catalog store. After
that, it was offices. Recessed off Campbell, is a nondescript building,
except for the fact that there are now huge letters on the front that
say Classic Cars, Banquet Rooms and NTX.
Hummer put together a very intriguing concept vehicle when it
put out the HX. This SUV has a removable roof, can be transformed from a
short bed pickup to a convertible and then back to the traditional
square Hummer. This vehicle is geared for a younger crowd that wants
versatility and I think they accomplished it. Saturn had a winner as
well with its compact SUV, the Saturn Vue. This vehicle is a 2-mode
hybrid and will be available later this year. It was a show stopper with
its fuel economy and is pleasant to look at.
Not only were the fads up in the air in the seventies, so were
the headline news. In 1971, the 26th Amendment was passed allowing a
U.S. citizen to be able to vote at age 18. In 1974, President Nixon
resigned from office as the Watergate scandal unfolds. In 1975,
President Ford announces war in Vietnam was finished as far as the U.S.
was concerned. And Space became the "New Frontier". In 1972, Pioneer 10
lifted off to journey past Jupiter. In 1973, Skylab was launched by
NASA. And in 1976, the Viking I landed on Mars. Boy, times were changing
fast, just as Bob Dylan had predicted.

As I started to bite into the green pod, I noticed Harvey kick
some dirt, waiting as I relived my dreams. It was hot in Hatch, but
nothing prepared me for the heat I was about to consume. Even the sun,
shining bright behind Harvey, seemed mild compared to what was happening
in my mouth. In 1970 my husband bought a Dodge R/T for $5000. The
price of the car was usually a bit less, but this particular car had all
the bells and whistles needed to be a true Muscle Car. If kept in mint
condition this car would now be worth approximately $50,000. He was
young and foolish though; blew up the engine, and just trashed the car.
To this day, the thought of his youthful waste makes him kind of
sick.
My mother and father enjoyed much of their leisure time with
drive in movies, watching TV shows such as MASH, All in the Family,
Dukes of Hazard, and Andy Griffith. They enjoyed the music of Merle
Haggard, Freddy Hart and Conway Twitty. Lastly, they enjoyed fast cars
as well as many people did in the seventies. Drag racing was a fun event
for both my mother and my father. In the seventies my father owned a
1972 Ford Galaxy 500, 1970 Road Runner, 1973 Ranchero, and a 1976
buy truck parts and accessories. The cost of a new
vehicle was around $6000. Over all, the most rememberable event for my
mother in the seventies was in 1977 when Elvis Presley died. It may be a word, a symbol or a motto but having a message can
do more to keep attorneys on the same page than almost anything else.
Decide what your message and is and stick to it, whether it be stamping
your symbol on letters and emails or boldly displaying your firm mantra
on the company website. Repetition will help attorneys stay on message
and clients recognize your presence. Outdoor Bob, needed a truck
to go to work. Linda went with Bob to the local Ford dealer and bought a
new Ford pickup. Linda had the credit so the loan was in her name. About
six months later, Bob started to stop off on Friday at the local saloon
to cash his paycheck. Sure enough, there was a dart board there and a
few of the guys started tossing darts for beers. Bob was pretty good and
they invited him to be on the local dart team. "Trucks bounced back during the month," says Paul Ballew,
executive director of market and industry analysis at GM. Chrysler,
conversely, boasts its truck sales, "The retail side of our business has
really shown a lot of strength for us in October, especially with key
products such as Jeep Commander, Dodge Ram pickup... Jeep Liberty," says
Steven Landry, Chrysler Group vice president of sales and field
operations.
