For me the holiday season was always the most rewarding time of the year as a child interested in hunting. I had every issue of deer and deer hunting magazine to fill in during the non-holiday months. But hearing and seeing hunting as a kid can never be replaced..those memories will stick with you the rest of your years. During Christmas and Thanksgiving, we started a tradition. My Grandfather, God rest his soul, used to sit down after the meal and tell us of all the deer hunting stories he remembered growing up. For me their was no better story teller that lived. He seemed to bring back his memories in full color HD detail in my mind. A lot of those stories are fleeting at best, I am sure he added in his own little exaggerated touches but back then it didn't matter. That is what Deer Camp stories did for me in D&DH magazine in the off season too. My Dad used to call my grandfather a bullshitter and never fully understood that till after growing up and experiencing life for myself. I think this life needs bullshitters to carry on that tradition of deer hunting we have all come to love.

Sometimes it is (1) attorney, sometimes it is (2) attorneys and sometimes it involves the Judge. In this particular case, here is poor little "Linda" getting a divorce from "Outdoor Bob". Prior to their marriage, Linda had perfect credit and Outdoor Bob, being a rascal, had ziltch for credit. Linda was told by Mom and Dad, don't marry that bum. Well, love prevailed and they got married. check over here Hannah's was just a hole-in-the-wall, long and narrow with a bar running almost the whole length of the building. The brick on the face of the building, and the white wooden door outside, were nearly black from years of soot from the coke plant and steel mills. Patrons tended to be older folks who spent what was left of their paychecks on booze, Polish sausages, hard-boiled eggs, and illegal tip boards. The dark figure standing, staring by the street, is noticed by the two men in the front seat of the truck, they stare but keep going, --trees blowing to his right and left, the waves of the Great Lake of Superior, makes a humming sound, and everything else, as if you were in the middle of a hurricane, the stranger stands erect yet, never moving. He sees the eyes of the passenger in the Ford-truck, a small figure, a man of about forty, the driver calls him Skip, and he hears that. The taller man at the wheel, his arms are solid, and frozen to the wheel, is called Amery, for some reason you know he knows that. Every year when my wife and I filed our taxes some things from MY past (not hers) would creep up. If we filed our taxes on February 1st, we were lucky if we got our refund in August. I had a buy truck frame that had a manual transmission. My wife cannot drive stick shift but I had to put her on my insurance because she is has a driver's license and lived with me. If she had tickets or a DUI from the past, my insurance would be sky high and I have never had any tickets and I don't drink and drive. It wasn't a problem for us but it could have been. My experiences at the Shadow Bar occurred more than forty years ago, but I still wonder if I should have reported the incident when I returned to Engineers Hill. I resumed my mission and approached the Shadow Bar. Shadow Bar is an unusual name that had nothing to do with the building itself. The walls were bright, white stucco with the front of the one-story building evenly divided by a massive black door with a small glass window centered about five feet up from the sidewalk. The few windows in the building were covered with shades and draperies that allowed no glimpse of what was happening inside. The situation might sound like a win-win but some people say "Cash for Clunkers" is a speed bump, slowing customers who might want a used car. Used car dealers at Naff Auto Sales told WSLS the program could force people into buying a new car. Another possible problem, Clunkers traded in with the program have to be destroyed, meaning they won't end up for sale on a used car lot. Better for the environment, bad for used car business. But many say it's a trade we need to make. Many don't want to put the brakes on the program. In an interview with WSLS, the president of Berglund Automotive said close to 40 people have taken advantage of the government program so far. They say "Cash for Clunkers" is giving customers the kick they need to get a new car.
