Today, as fuel prices
continue to escalate, more car buyers are contemplating on getting small
passenger cars instead of bigger vehicles such as those top-selling
trucks and SUVs from Ford, giving up what they really need and want for
the sake of saving more on fuel expenses.
Hummer put together a very intriguing concept vehicle when it
put out the HX. This SUV has a removable roof, can be transformed from a
short bed pickup to a convertible and then back to the traditional
square Hummer. This vehicle is geared for a younger crowd that wants
versatility and I think they accomplished it. Saturn had a winner as
well with its compact SUV, the Saturn Vue. This vehicle is a 2-mode
hybrid and will be available later this year. It was a show stopper with
its fuel economy and is pleasant to look at.
To give
you an idea of the depth of the collection, on display is a 1926
Rolls-Royce. Wilbert Grinsven, the curator tells me that there were only
two years that Rolls-Royce manufactured cars in the United States. Those
years were 1926 and 1927. This car is one of the few Rolls Royce's made
here during that time. The auto manufacturer decided that it was not
economically feasible to continue manufacturing autos in the US and
closed its factory here in the states after only 2 years. Another
example of a beautiful old car is a car used in the movie "Driving Miss
Daisy".

Sales of Ford's Lobo pick-up
truck are falling sharply with Mexican consumers because as it turns
out, the truck is a favorite of cartel hit men and drug runners. Drivers
are now afraid to drive the truck out of fear for being mistaken by
cartel gunmen as a rival. The questions continued and

Once the money runs out or we hit the month of November, you're on your

decline in gas prices seem to benefit GM most. The automaker's truck
sales surged by 32.9 percent. DaimlerChrysler truck sales were up by
11.1 percent. Jeep and Dodge received most of the gains. Jeep auto parts
are proving what they are worth in Liberty and Commando. Consequently,
Dodge truck parts are still preferred by many truck enthusiasts. "Trucks bounced back during the month," says Paul Ballew,
executive director of market and industry analysis at GM. Chrysler,
conversely, boasts its truck sales, "The retail side of our business has
really shown a lot of strength for us in October, especially with key
products such as Jeep Commander, Dodge Ram pickup... Jeep Liberty," says
Steven Landry, Chrysler Group vice president of sales and field
operations.
