The figures of last month's sales are easy to compare
with that of last year for same period. In the light-truck category
which includes SUVs, pickups, and vans; sales figure soared by 14.8
percent last month compared to the sales performance for October last
year. The gains in the truck segment exceeded the 2.9% falloff in car
sales. Moreover, the automotive industry increased its sales by 6.1
percent over October 2005. Nonetheless, last month was the second worst
month in terms of this year's volume.
Andy knows that it will be

As I started to bite into the green pod, I noticed Harvey kick
some dirt, waiting as I relived my dreams. It was hot in Hatch, but
nothing prepared me for the heat I was about to consume. Even the sun,
shining bright behind Harvey, seemed mild compared to what was happening
in my mouth. Do any of these scenarios sound familiar? Have you ever

of these exercises not only make for a lively discussion, but work to
help define your firm personality. Once that emerges, look for ways to
incorporate it in your firm's daily business- from answering the phones
to your letterhead. Well,
since that was the only plan the three of us were able to come up with
that whole evening, I figured it was destiny. There really wasn't
anything else going on in my life so as dawn arrived we headed for the
Army recruiting office. There were, of course, some tests for me to
take. No one, NO ONE is going to read a
three-page attorney biography. Though they may be proud of their
accomplishments, attorneys need to realize the importance of being clear
and succinct. Have the attorneys sit down with copies of their bio and
take the time to update and edit what's there. From cases to clubs and
organizations, limit the information and focus on what the attorney can
do for a new client, not what they have done for old ones. Remember: be
prepared, have an agenda and keep focused on the discussion at hand.
Involve everyone from partners to associates to staff and keep an open
mind to marketing ideas, plans and needs. But most of all... make it a
true priority to institute those strategies when the retreat
ends.
