Getting divorced but staying
together is getting more and more popular these days. I know. I couldn't
figure out why anyone would do that either. That was until I found
myself in that very situation with my wife.
The world has changed a lot. Most people
don't know the names of all the cars on the market. Two cars in a family
is common. People are busy and don't want to take the time to shop for
that perfect car. Families with kids want SUV's. Everyone wants energy
efficiency. Instead of asking how much horse power, people are asking
how many miles per gallon.
According to statistics, the average household income in 1970 was
$8,734 and it rose to $16,461 in 1979. The unemployment rate was 3.5% in
1970 and up and down all decade landing at 8.5% in 1979. Heart disease
was and still is the leading cause of death. Also, Aids and HIV was
discovered in the seventies. There were many major medical break
throughs in the 1970's. One of the most noted being the completion of
the MRI scan in 1977. My mother recalls having medical insurance and

Noticing at first
that I was completely exhausted from staying in the protective fight or
flight mode, I began to question whether or not I could handle this
responsibility. I went through a journey of emotions from anger to
shame. How could I be a babysitter when I had a business to run and a
life of my own? What did I do to deserve this punishment? These were
thoughts that took residence in my mind during the first months. Since
Jay Leno took over the hosting duties at "The Tonight Show", he has
earned another nickname-"The King of Late Night." So, how much money

Every year when my wife and I filed our taxes some things from MY past
(not hers) would creep up. If we filed our taxes on February 1st, we
were lucky if we got our refund in August. I had a
buy truck head in usa that had a manual transmission. My wife cannot drive stick
shift but I had to put her on my insurance because she is has a driver's
license and lived with me. If she had tickets or a DUI from the past, my
insurance would be sky high and I have never had any tickets and I don't
drink and drive. It wasn't a problem for us but it could have
been. From shopping around and purchasing just the right part, to finding
a mechanic that can work on classic cars to purchasing an already
restored car; the Internet has already transformed a chore that used to
take weeks and sometimes months, into just hours, or possibly days. Outdoor Bob, needed a truck
to go to work. Linda went with Bob to the local Ford dealer and bought a
new Ford pickup. Linda had the credit so the loan was in her name. About
six months later, Bob started to stop off on Friday at the local saloon
to cash his paycheck. Sure enough, there was a dart board there and a
few of the guys started tossing darts for beers. Bob was pretty good and
they invited him to be on the local dart team. The situation might sound like a win-win but some
people say "Cash for Clunkers" is a speed bump, slowing customers who
might want a used car. Used car dealers at Naff Auto Sales told WSLS the
program could force people into buying a new car. Another possible
problem, Clunkers traded in with the program have to be destroyed,
meaning they won't end up for sale on a used car lot. Better for the
environment, bad for used car business. But many say it's a trade we
need to make. Many don't want to put the brakes on the program. In an
interview with WSLS, the president of Berglund Automotive said close to
40 people have taken advantage of the government program so far. They
say "Cash for Clunkers" is giving customers the kick they need to get a
new car.
