The North American International Auto Show is a site to be seen around the country, but in the Detroit area it is a chance for the millions of local auto workers that live here to see what they may be producing and take pride in their company's name. Every year in January, the Cobo Center hosts the Detroit version of the Auto show and every year well over a half million people make the trip to the venue to take in the glory. This is a show for everyone, even the little ones. This years event took place from January 19 thru January 27th. It was a week of beauty, style, and concept. If you are a people watcher there is something here for you. If you are a car aficionado this is your dream, and if you are just looking for your next vehicle this is the place to start. Hummer put together a very intriguing concept vehicle when it put out the HX. This SUV has a removable roof, can be transformed from a short bed pickup to a convertible and then back to the traditional square Hummer. This vehicle is geared for a younger crowd that wants versatility and I think they accomplished it. Saturn had a winner as well with its compact SUV, the Saturn Vue. This vehicle is a 2-mode hybrid and will be available later this year. It was a show stopper with its fuel economy and is pleasant to look at.

As they make their turn, they straighten out the wheel, press hard on the gas and get the hell going to the strangers house. Skip sees the thickness of the woods next to him, as the head lights reflect the fog-lit moon shadows. In front of him there are hundreds of frogs crossing the road, driftwood had reached all the with way from the lake up to the road, --it is strange they both think , and so they now are thinking more with their body expressions, their face, eyebrows, the way they look at each other; --they turn their head sharp as if they sense Lake Superior is right next to them because of the sounds of the waves are becoming louder again, but they know it is a few hundred yards to the side of them, yet all this driftwood laying about, they seem to be fixed on for the moment, as if they were on a levy. I had just started on another beer when someone dropped a few coins in the juke box. The music was bad country. To my utter disgust the first song that played was that "I want to stick a boot up your butt" super-patriotic, ultra-jingoist thing by the guy in the buy truck paint commercials. The people around me began to sing along loudly. My experiences at the Shadow Bar occurred more than forty years ago, but I still wonder if I should have reported the incident when I returned to Engineers Hill. When I came back it was just out of the guilt that I had. I pride myself on my professionalism, and this is the first issue I've ever had where I wasn't able to come to set ... The thing that cut deep to the core of me was knowing that there were 65 human beings who are like family to me, waiting for me to come back. They were sitting on their asses doing nothing because of my...you know, my situation. Remember: be prepared, have an agenda and keep focused on the discussion at hand. Involve everyone from partners to associates to staff and keep an open mind to marketing ideas, plans and needs. But most of all... make it a true priority to institute those strategies when the retreat ends.
