The North American International Auto Show is a site to be seen around the country, but in the Detroit area it is a chance for the millions of local auto workers that live here to see what they may be producing and take pride in their company's name. Every year in January, the Cobo Center hosts the Detroit version of the Auto show and every year well over a half million people make the trip to the venue to take in the glory. This is a show for everyone, even the little ones. This years event took place from January 19 thru January 27th. It was a week of beauty, style, and concept. If you are a people watcher there is something here for you. If you are a car aficionado this is your dream, and if you are just looking for your next vehicle this is the place to start. Again they slow down, then stop, look about, they hear the water slapping the bank from the Great Lake again, but can not see it. It was hot in Hatch, but nothing prepared me for the heat I was about to consume. Even the sun, shining bright behind Harvey, seemed mild compared to what was happening in my mouth. I listened to what Jake had to say and asked a few questions of my own. I was totally shocked when I heard the dirt about what goes on behind the scenes of the show. I picked Jakes' brain a bit with some off the wall questions I have always had about the show and he threw in some things I never would have had a clue took place on the set. I thought I would make this fun and share some true or false questions that lie behind all the media hype of ABC's number one family show. Now I am a mom and I can appreciate the functionality of a vehicle. If it could give the kids a bath that would be perfect, but one of my favorite things to look at is all the trucks. The New Ford F-150 Platinum Edition was very impressive. With the kick out side steps to the drop step under the bumper right down to the pop up handle for climbing in the bed. The interior is imaginative and very sleek along with being extremely functional. This was a highlight for the ford truck deal series section and drew a large crowd. It was showing some new lockable storage in the bed as well as some very interesting changes to the suspension which may turn the truck world upside down. Jumping off the back of the deuce-and-half truck, brushing through the crowd of peanut girls, I headed to the bar. It was a beautiful day with sunlight dappling the shaded roadway. A couple of guys that had graduated from high school with me picked me up at the end of my afternoon shift, and we went drinking in Lorain. We ended up in Hannah's Bar on North Broadway just a couple of blocks south of Lake Erie. So there you have it. I have listed some of the more popular accessories for a Ford truck.
